I'm so Thankful because of you! 

Realizing and reflecting back on my time as an AMSOIL Dealer. I just realized that I signed up as a dealer in November of 1999. I couldn't have understood how thankful I am to be a dealer. We all started in the exact same place. Paying our $50 dealer fee, then stumbling our way through the process of building our business. Back then it's way actually more expensive to become a certified dealer than it is now. It was $20 for the dealer fee, but then you had to purchase the Business Training Manual for $35, then spend another $20 to order the dealer certification workbook. You then read through the the manual and answered questions about products, sales, marketing, sponsoring etc. Also there were questions to learn about the compensation plan...What a difference it is today! The tools and learning programs are 1000% better than those days. 

I'm thankful for each and every one of you! Many I have personal relationships with. I would love to have a personal relationship with everyone on our team no matter who their sponsor is. Just note you can reach out to me anytime, email, phone, text, even social media.

Check your AMSOIL Locator Listings

I have been checking out the AMSOIL locator almost daily. I've found some errors that have been reported to AMSOIL. The new release of the locator and the "Premier Installer" listing seems to have some bugs. Retail Stores that don't install are listed, Premier listings as dealers and other things. I've also seen accounts show up on the search for a town, but when you go to the State listings and click on that town there are not there. 

Are you listed on the AMSOIL Locator? If so, be sure to check out your own listings. Secondly, there is a way to manage your personal profile, be sure if you have a website to have it listed there as well. Secondly be sure to manage your ROTS customers, which you can do in the dealer.

AMSOIL Dealer vs Retailer / Installer

Adding content to your website helps with Search Engine Optimization. Over the last few years we've worked with several dealers and accounts that didn't know there was a difference in the terminology that AMSOIL uses. We believe many business owners use google to become an AMSOIL Dealer, like being a Firestone Dealer or Interstate Battery Dealer they don't understand that being an AMSOIL Dealer is a business opportunity. New 75w85 Severe Gear Lube

Just released is the new 75w85 Severe Gear. This product seems to be targeted at some of the newer vehicles. I had a call for someone with a Toyota 4Runner and I noticed that many of the Jeep vehicles call for this viscosity. 

Learning what products go to some vehicles you run across is a great idea to help you target your promotions.

Do The Work! 

The majority of people that are not successful with AMSOIL have not done the work. What is the work required to be successful?

1. Exposure /market- exposing new people every day to AMSOIL products and the opportunity
2. Prospecting- seeking out people to intentionally prospect to become your customer, account or dealer. 
3. Inviting- inviting them to see the products
4. Ask for the business
5. Follow up- It takes an average of 7 exposures to get a new customer
6. Relationship building
7. Asking for referrals

Common AMSOIL Business Expenses

• Business Education
• Gifts and give-a-ways
• Home Office / Office Supplies
• AMSOIL Fees for registering accounts and any extra software fees like CRM, DBS etc.
• Tax software or accountant fees
• Business Meals
• Phone & Internet
• Travel / Mileage

Do Your Homework: This list covers many deductions, your CPA may be able to help you determine which ones to use. And remember that every receipt you lose or misplace is like throwing money away. Get good at saving your receipts. This will help lower your tax bill legally at the end of the year.

What’s really neat is that most people already have MANY of these expenses prior to joining the business. Now they just have the legal option to deduct them on their taxes.

Dealers Who Want To Be Listed As Retail/Installer

The AMSOIL Installer Locator at www.amsoil.com is designed to help prospects find local businesses that install AMSOIL products. AMSOIL Dealers who operate retail businesses that install AMSOIL products may be eligible for the Installer Locator if the business meets similar requirements as AMSOIL retail accounts:

-- Have a storefront with public access (Mobile Business Okay too)
-- Be open to the public with regular business hours
-- Sell and install associated products at retail prices
-- Have a business telephone number, website and/or other promotional materials to support the existence of a full-time retail/installation business
-- Maintain the same account product purchase requirements as AMSOIL retail accounts, or earn a minimum of $25 in AMSOIL commissions in the previous six months

If you would like to apply to have your Dealership appear as an installer on the locator, click on the Installer Locator Application and follow the instructions to provide the necessary information to AMSOIL INC.

Eligibility Guidelines
Please review the information AMSOIL has on file for each of the accounts listed here.

Retailers and service centers must meet any of the following purchase requirements to remain active on the AMSOIL Locator at www.amsoil.com:

US Accounts:

$400 in the previous 3 months
$800 in the previous 6 months
$1,200 in the previous 9 months
$1,600 in the previous 12 months

Canadian Accounts:

$450 in the previous 3 months
$900 in the previous 6 months
$1,350 in the previous 9 months
$1,800 in the previous 12 months

Products must have shipped in order to be included in the purchase requirement. Qualifying purchases include products that are sold on the shelf or installed in consumer applications. Purchases of literature and promotional items, tax, shipping, etc., do not count toward the purchase requirements. The following product types apply to an account's qualifying purchase:
Motor Oil, Diesel Oil, Oil Filters, Two-Stroke Oil, Transmission Fluid, Gear Lube, Motorcycle Oil, Four-Stroke Oil, Additives, Grease, Air Filters, Antifreeze/Coolant, WIX Filters, Compressor Oil (quarts only)

Note: Dealers that are approved will have to go into their Retail Account Admin portal and manage their own listing. Be sure to uncheck that box that says: Hide My AMSOIL Locator Page from Search Engines:
