Personally we have had our own AMSOIL Dealer website to help us promote products since 2000 when I registered Lube-Direct.com having control over your online presence is key for long term sales and growth. Many dealer are now stuck when the empowerkit goes away as those thinks for their site my now longer work. Let's hope that the new company can salvage those links. 

Losing your online / social media

Recently I woke up to being logged out of Facebook... As I tried to log back in, there was a notification that my personal profile had been disabled due to "community standards" violation. Of course they don't give you an clue on what you did wrong or any recourse to correct the issue. Meta owns your content and your profile and can do whatever they please. 

After trying several ways to contact Meta I was denied and said that I was permanently banned from the site. I had all but given up until over 3 weeks later my wife saw that I had liked a post (this means my profile was active again) I immediately tried logging in and was able to get back in. 

Many of you use social media to build your AMSOIL business, promote products, and promote your customers and accounts. If this can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. Be sure to have a way to stay in touch with customers and accounts. In your dealers zone under "Reports" are several options to get your customers contact info. You can click on PDF reports and pull up an excel sheet with all your current customers names, email, address and phone. This is what I do for this email newsletter. 

Maps radius. 

How much business is within 25, 50, or 100 miles from you? In most cases there is more business in your local area than you realize. While it seems that AMSOIL is "Everywhere" in reality less than 1% of the lubricant market is AMSOIL. You could earn a full time plus income within 25 miles of your location. While many dealers are focusing on the internet. Maybe it's time to reevaluate your local marketing?

The town nearest us (Clarksville, TN) has over 150,000 people. Nashville TN is over 500,000 people. Getting 1% of that is 1,500 and 5,000 respectively. I believe you could earn a nice commission working with 1500 people! 

Working local events!

Now that we have firearm cleaner and lube there should be no issue getting into the show. And you probably could sell enough product to pay for you booth at the show. The idea is to get in front of people, talk about the advantages of AMSOIL and helping them get signed up as Customers, or business owners. 

Other local events could be chamber meetings, car clubs and shows, outdoor shows, fishing and hunting shows, etc. Remember, meeting new people and building relationships is key to building a successful business.

Dealer-number transferring links are URLs to corporate AMSOIL webpages with your Dealer number attached. These links allow you to direct prospective customers and Dealers to the information they need while also keeping them connected to you as a Dealer and ensuring you receive commissions on any purchase they make.

To create a Dealer-number transferring link:

Navigate to the target page on AMSOIL.com, AMSOIL.ca or blog.AMSOIL.com.

Highlight the complete URL from the navigation bar in the web browser.
Hold Ctrl-C to copy.
Hold Ctrl-V to paste URL where you are linking from on your website.
Add "?zo=1234567" to the end of the URL (use your actual Dealer number).
Example: https://www.amsoil.com/p/signature-series-5w30-synthetic-motor-oil-asl/?zo=1234567

If there is already a question mark anywhere in the URL you selected, use an "&" instead of a question mark.

AMSOIL - MyGarage: 

AMSOIL has updated the MyGarage (after me asking about it for at least 3 years) so that dealers could promote this free tool to potential customers. Now when you use a ZO transfer link and a customer signs up you will get credit for that customers and they should show up in your new customer report. Of course you won't earn any commissions until they order something, but you could reach out to them and thank them for registering and offer any assistance. 

Secondly the MyGarage could be a really great tool for Fleets that would like to track maintenance for all their vehicles and equipment. I don't believe there is any other service like this out there. They can track maintenance even if they don't use AMSOIL product. Any service can be added and track.

AMSOIL Preferred Customer Vs. Commercial Account for Small Business Owners

We recently ran into a situation where one of our commercial accounts was getting promotional email for the monthly PC give-a-ways. They called and complained that the promo code didn't work. Come to find out they were a PC in the past and once we determined they owned a business we encouraged them to become a Commercial Account. Then we started looking at their order history and determined for the amounts they order they probably should have stayed as a PC. They order enough throughout the year to earn a free PC membership and their orders throughout the year are about $200. Well below the requirement for free shipping as a commercial account. So they are paying $13.99 shipping. This made me realize to better qualify a commercial business to determine how much they plan on ordering. Promoting your accounts using the AMSOIL Buy Local and the AMSOIL Locator. 

Do you follow / engage with your retail and installer accounts online like LinkedIn or Facebook? We personally use our AMSOIL Buy Local directory to help promote our active accounts. 

This does two things, it helps your accounts sell more AMSOIL and it helps build a better relationship between you and your account. We will normally post something like "Thanks to (Insert/tag your account) for the recent restock of inventory" when they make a purchase. 

When you tag your account, they see that you tagged them.

Another option that I have been thinking of recently is asking your accounts to help promote AMSOIL by taking photos and posting them on their social. This might be something to discuss with your accounts. In many cases your contact at the account might not be the same person, they may have a Social Media person so be sure to ask.
